As we move through May, you can feel the shift all around us. The trees are blooming, the grass is turning a vibrant green and the sounds of birds chirping and frogs croaking signal that summer is just around the corner. The region is waking up, and it’s clear that both locals and visitors alike are ready to embrace everything this beautiful season has to offer.
Here at Steele Hill Resort, we are hard at work preparing for an exciting and memorable 2026 summer season. From property enhancements to refreshed activities and dining experiences, our team is focused on making your stay better than ever. Our maintenance team has been busy throughout the spring completing a variety of upgrades across the property. At the West outdoor pool, guests will enjoy a newly resurfaced pool, while the resort outdoor pool deck has been refreshed with an updated epoxy coating for a clean and modern look. The Hilltop Restaurant is also receiving improvements, including a new deck and updated windows to enhance both comfort and those incredible panoramic views. Inside the units, we are updating lamps, replacing carpets in several accommodations and continuing to refresh interiors with paint, artwork and general upgrades to ensure a comfortable and welcoming stay. Around the grounds, our team is preparing the landscaping, planting seasonal flowers, opening the golf course and getting everything ready for the busy months ahead. Guests can enjoy our 9-hole executive golf course, with club rentals available, making it easy for players of all skill levels to get out and enjoy a round. Our housekeeping team is also hard at work performing deep cleans, restocking supplies and preparing each unit to meet the high standards our guests expect.
Summer at Steele Hill is all about activity, connection and making memories, and 2026 will be no exception. We’re excited to welcome back some guest favorites, including our electric bikes and outdoor laser tag, both ready for another season of adventure. The fishing pond is also stocked with 150 rainbow trout, offering a fun and relaxing experience for anglers of all ages. Guests can explore over five miles of scenic hiking trails throughout the property, perfect for enjoying the fresh mountain air, spotting wildlife, and taking in the natural beauty of the Lakes Region. Our activities team is introducing new additions to the weekly schedule while continuing to offer the events guests know and love. Candy Bar Bingo, trivia nights, cornhole tournaments and our always-popular ice cream socials will return, alongside arts and crafts, guided activities and family-friendly programming. Wildlife Encounters will be on-site through July and August on Monday evenings, offering a spectacular and informative animal presentation that has become a highlight for many guests.
We are also excited to continue enhancing the family experience with the Steele Hill Kids’ Club. At Steele Hill Resort, we believe family vacations should be filled with fun, laughter and unforgettable memories.
Dining continues to be a centerpiece of the Steele Hill experience. The Hilltop Restaurant will be unveiling a newly updated menu for the summer season, featuring fresh offerings while still holding onto the classic favorites our guests enjoy. Guests can also enjoy seasonal blackboard specials available at the Hilltop, including summer favorites like lobster rolls and pulled pork. We will be launching an all new summer drink menu while keeping our famous “bucket drinks”. Tova’s Tavern will continue to provide a relaxed atmosphere for drinks and casual dining, along with weekly trivia nights. As summer kicks into full swing, the Cabana at the resort outdoor pool and The Grill at the West outdoor pool will be open, offering convenient poolside food and beverages. Throughout the summer, we will also feature weekly live entertainment at both outdoor pool areas, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere for guests to relax and enjoy.
For those who enjoy cooking outdoors, we also offer grills located throughout the property, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a classic summer BBQ with family and friends. Beyond the resort, the Lakes Region offers endless opportunities for exploration from hiking scenic trails and visiting local beaches to boating on local lakes, shopping in Tilton, or spending the day at nearby attractions like Funspot.
