2025 Winter Ahead At Steele Hill Resort

2025 Winter Ahead At Steele Hill Resort

As the seasons shift and the first chill of winter settles over the Lakes Region, our team at Steele Hill Resort is looking forward to another magical winter season in the Lakes Region. Our maintenance crew has been busy getting everything ready for another great winter season, from prepping snow removal equipment and winterizing the buildings, to buttoning up the golf course and outdoor recreation areas for their well-deserved rest.

Early winter is also when we complete our annual indoor pool updates. The Resort Indoor Pool will be closed November 10–22 and the West Indoor Pool will be closed December 1–13 while our team refreshes each space and makes behind-the-scenes improvements. Guests visiting during the West Pool closure can take advantage of our best savings of the year through the West Pool Maintenance Package featuring 35% off accommodations and a $25 resort credit. All other resort amenities, including the East indoor and outdoor hot tubs, East sauna, dining and activities, will remain open during the West maintenance period for your enjoyment.

Soon, the snow will blanket the grounds, and the resort will transform into a hub for winter activities. Our activities team will be out sharpening skates and preparing the snowshoe trails for guests to enjoy. Whether you prefer sledding down our dedicated hill, gliding across the frozen pond or exploring the woods on snowshoes, there’s plenty of outdoor fun to be had right here on property. If skiing or snowboarding is on your list this winter, Gunstock Mountain Resort is just a quick 20-minute drive away, offering great terrain for all skill levels. For those looking to venture a bit farther, Waterville Valley, Loon and Cannon Mountain are all within reach for a full day of adventure. The surrounding area also hosts several favorite winter events, including the Great Meredith Ice Fishing Derby, New England Pond Hockey Classic and the World Championship Sled Dog Derby in Laconia.

When you’re ready to warm up, you’ll find plenty of ways to relax indoors. Take a dip in one of our heated pools, unwind in a sauna or hot tub, or treat yourself to a little pampering at the Vantage Day Spa, offering massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and soothing body treatments. The Hilltop Restaurant will feature hearty, seasonal dishes perfect for the colder months, while Tova’s Tavern is the place for a casual bite or a quick drink after a day outside. You can even have your meal delivered right to your suite for a cozy night in. And of course, our Activities Department has plenty of indoor fun lined up, including candy bar bingo, painting and craft sessions, trivia nights, family movie events and gaming competitions, perfect for guests of all ages!
