It’s hard to believe that summer is already slipping away and autumn will be here in the Lakes Region. The busy days of July have given way to cooler mornings, crisp air and the brilliant colors that make this time of year my favorite and so special in New Hampshire. From the resort’s hilltop, you can see the rolling landscape transform into a patchwork of red, orange and gold, a view that never gets old no matter how many seasons you’ve been here.
Fall is a wonderful season for getting outside. Whether you’re exploring our trail network of over five miles, biking through the winding backroads or taking a scenic drive through the mountains, the weather is perfect for fresh-air adventures. Local orchards will be opening to the public, offering fresh-picked apples, homemade cider and warm cinnamon donuts. A visit to the orchard is a must-do for me every year and I highly recommend it! Nearby farm stands will soon be brimming with pumpkins, mums and other autumn favorites. For those who enjoy community events, the fall fair season is approaching, bringing live music, exhibits, and classic midway fun to the area from Labor Day weekend through mid-October.
After a day of leaf-peeping and seasonal activities, the resort is the perfect place to unwind. Relax in one of our hot tubs, take a swim in the pools or enjoy dinner at The Hilltop Restaurant while watching the sunset over the foliage-covered mountains. The Hilltop Restaurant and Tova’s Tavern will be open for lunch and dinner every day excluding Wednesdays throughout the autumn, offering meals and drinks with dine-in, takeout and room delivery options. There is also a delicious breakfast offering during the weekends!
