07 Nov 2024 Winter Ahead At Steele Hill Resort
Fall season is wrapping up, the leaves have dropped from the trees and soon the resort will be blanketed with fresh white snow. The maintenance staff members are preparing for the upcoming winter by closing the sports courts and golf course, preparing the equipment for snow removal and winterizing all the buildings. Early winter is our time to complete the indoor pool maintenance. We will be closing the Resort Indoor Pool from November 11th to November 23rd and the West Indoor Pool from December 2nd to December 14th. During this time we will be replacing some windows, flooring in the bathroom, painting, upgrading sand filters and replacing some piping for the sprinkler system.
Once it is cold enough, the activities department will be setting up the skating rink, sharpening the ice skates and preparing the on-site trails for snowshoeing. While the weather may be colder, the resort still offers plenty of things to do once the snow starts falling. If you enjoy outdoor activities, take advantage and explore miles of trails for a fun snowshoe hike, sled down our designated sledding hill or rent some ice skates and skate on our rink or on the iced-over pond. If you are a skier, Gunstock Ski Area is just a 20-minute drive or you can choose to travel north to one of the many alternative ski areas New Hampshire has to offer such as Waterville Valley, Loon Mountain or Cannon Mountain, they all offer great skiing or snowboarding experiences. There are many other events throughout the winter season in the Lakes Region including an annual ice fishing derby, a national pond hockey tournament and the world championship dog sled race in Laconia!
If you would rather stay indoors, escape into one of our many indoor pools to enjoy a warm, tropical experience or relax in one of our dry heat saunas. The Vantage Day Spa is now open! Visit our spa website page to book a relaxing massage, manicure, pedicure or one of the many skin and body treatments we have available. The Hilltop Restaurant has some great offerings for the new winter menu. You can dine in at the Hilltop, Tovas Tavern or order and have it delivered right to the comfort of your room. The activities department also offers fun indoor activities such as candy bar bingo, painting and crafts, trivia night in Tovas Tavern, video game competitions and many other exciting activities to choose from.
We hope to see you at the resort this winter. Book your stay now by going to our website and be sure to check out the many seasonal discount packages we offer. A Path Resorts gift card is always a great gift for family and friends, stay tuned for our Black Friday gift card sales event!
