Steele Hill Resort is known for our unparalleled vistas of nearby lakes and mountains providing the perfect backdrop during vacations of all seasons. We have decided to take advantage of the beautiful snow-covered views and meticulously designed an ice rink overlooking the winter wonderland that is the Lakes Region. Adjacent to our South buildings, the skating rink is the perfect spot to spend an exciting winter day with your friends and family.
Whether you want to learn to skate, practice your figure 8 or play a pick-up game of hockey, the ice-skating rink is open to skaters of all experience levels. Didn’t remember to pack your ice skates? That’s okay! The resort’s front desk can provide skate rentals for the whole party. Each rental is $10 and includes ice skates, a helmet, a hockey stick and a hockey puck. There are several benches located rink side to lace up your skates or to take a break from the skating activities while warming up by the outdoor heating units. The resort has a homemade Zamboni used regularly to provide a smooth surface and clear the rink of any freshly fallen snow. Weather permitting, the ice rink is open from 8am to 10pm daily which provides a unique opportunity to night skate under the lights! As always, keep an eye out on our activity schedule where our activities director frequently hosts events held on the ice rink such as skating for beginners where you can learn to skate, brush up on your skating skills and play pick-up hockey games! Once you have burned some calories and worked up an appetite, stop by the onsite Hilltop Restaurant for a hearty bowl of soup or delicious entrée before exploring the resort’s other quintessential winter activities.
