12 Nov A Message From The Manager
We have had a successful year and I want to thank everyone who visited the resort this past year, it was wonderful to see our owners and guests vacationing and enjoying the resort. As I write this message it is a crisp clear fall day up here at Steele Hill most of the leaves have fallen from the trees and it is beautiful day for hike. I know these days are limited and soon the temperatures will drop, the ice will form on the pond and the snow will fly setting up the Lakes Region for all the wonderful winter activities it has to offer. Soon enough the ski areas will be open for downhill and cross-country skiing. Once we have snow on the ground at the resort, we will have snowshoes to rent and use on our onsite hiking trails or try ice skating on the frozen pond! If skiing or skating is not your cup of tea the area offers many outdoor events throughout the winter with the ice castles, pond hockey tournaments, ice fishing derbies, and the annual Laconia sled dog races. If you are a snowmobiler there are trails from the resort that lead to the local and state snowmobile trails.
For those who prefer to stay indoors when the colder weather hits, there are plenty of indoor activities in the area and at the resort as well. You can catch a movie or a live performance at one of the local theaters or test your arcade and bowling skills at Funspot “The world’s largest arcade”. You can also stay warm in one of our indoor pool areas where you can relax in one of the dry saunas, soak in one of 4 hot tubs, or just enjoy a nice swim in the indoor heated pools. We have a fulltime activities department who will be offering indoor activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, and corn hole tournaments. The amenity center has plenty to offer as well with air hockey, gaming stations, ping pong and Foosball.
You can dine in at The Hilltop Restaurant and Tova’s Tavern (open 6 days a week, closed on Wednesdays) or you can also order food or your favorite beverage for pick up or delivery right to your room from the restaurant. The menu includes a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, comfort foods and PIZZA all day long. The Oasis Bar located at the west pool is open Saturdays and Sundays so that you can enjoy your favorite beverage pool side. The Hilltop is also open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, when you can enjoy fresh eggs, bacon or pancakes with maple syrup made from the sap from trees on Steele Hill.
If you are planning a winter vacation to the Lakes Region, I hope you consider Steele Hill Resort as your destination. I know you won’t be bored or disappointed with your stay. We offer many discount promotions such as the Winter Family Fun Package that includes 20% off two or more nights in the accommodations of your choice, a $25 resort gift card as well as fresh baked cookies and hot cocoa in your room upon arrival!
We look forward to your arrival,
Rob Robillard
