2024 Fall Ahead At Steele Hill Resort

2024 Fall Ahead At Steele Hill Resort

The end of summer is only a few short weeks away and the busy Lakes Region will transition into the slower fall season. While the pace of tourism will slow down, there is still plenty to do in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. Fall is my favorite season of the year because there is so much still to do even in the cooler weather. Early fall is one of the best times to enjoy the lakes, there is much less boat traffic and it’s still warm enough to enjoy a beautiful day on one of the many local lakes. Hiking is another great fall activity, there are 5 miles of hiking trails right at the resort and there are some local hikes just a short drive away that offer magnificent views of the lakes and mountains. If you are looking for something more challenging take a drive up to the white mountains and experience some of the best hiking of all time.

Fall also brings the extraordinary foliage color changes where our tree’s leaves turn from a luscious green to vibrant reds, yellows and oranges, it is something everyone should observe at least once in their life. County fair season starts during the weekend of Labor Day and wraps up in mid-October with a different fair every weekend. If you have not experienced a NH county fair, I encourage you to take a day and attend one. You will see and be able to interact with livestock from local farms, enjoy live performances, eat delicious fair food and jump on a carnival ride or two. Our local apple orchards are also in full swing through September and early October, many orchards offer pick your own apples, fresh apple cider donuts and apple crisp. I never miss out on a day at the orchard!

If you are just looking to get away and relax at the resort, we have plenty to offer right onsite. Visit the adventure center and take a guided E-bike tour, play a round of laser tag, or join one of the many activities that are scheduled throughout the week. Searching for something more relaxing? Check out our newest addition, Vantage Day Spa where you can get a rejuvenating facial, body wrap, skin treatment or a manicure and pedicure. After spending a day out in the cool crisp fall air, the indoor pool areas offer a warm tropical feel, there is nothing better than spending some time relaxing in one of our many hot tubs or enjoying the welcoming heat of one of the saunas. The Hilltop Restaurant and Tova’s Tavern offer delicious food and fantastic beverages for lunch and dinner. You can eat in, order to go, or have it delivered right to your room. Breakfast is served on Saturdays and we are bringing back our famous Sunday Brunch with a chef attended omelet and waffle station as well as many new offerings like Baked Blueberry French Toast (one of my favorites).

Steele Hill offers many different room types and sizes from standard hotel rooms with a king bed, one-bedroom units that sleep four, or two-bedroom suites that sleep up to eight guests. I hope you will come visit and enjoy some time with your friends and family at Steele Hill Resort this fall season.
